Greg Wymer
DJ - 80’s, 90’s, Standards
Greg Wymer has been a DJ since his college days in the ‘80s and brings his passion for music and “moving the dance floor” to every function that he spins.
He re-launched his university’s radio station and acted as Program Director for two years, helping fund its operations by spinning large-scale campus dances.
His senior year Greg appeared on the MTV game show “Remote Control” and won a trip to the Bahamas by naming all 9 videos while stretched out on the show’s
Craftmatic bed.Returning home to Boston, he began DJing at bars and clubs around the city as well as hosting karaoke night for a plethora of tourists at the world-famous Bull & Finch Pub, the inspiration for the TV show “Cheers”.
Throughout the ‘90s, Greg worked at Boston’s alternative rock station 101.7 WFNX, holding down a number of creative roles including producing the morning drive show from 6:00-10:00 AM.
Greg’s passion for DJing has found him behind the mixer from clubs on Lansdowne Street and downtown Boston to charity events and private parties all over New England.
To this day, he’s a fan of any music with a catchy hook no
matter the style or genre.Nothing makes him happier than getting people smiling and moving and believes his superpower is the “ability to read the dance floor” and keep the room jumping.
Greg was a member of the Mainstage cast of ImprovBoston for seven years, which means he is incredibly comfortable and confident acting as a host or MC for corporate events.
He runs his own private trivia event called “Useless Trivia,” a great fundraising opportunity that can even offer customized questions for your attendees.
Greg is an excellent DJ for any function, but he truly excels in two specific areas: cover songs and retro 80s/90s parties.
He is the host of “Cover Lover” on Uncertain.FM, the online radio station run by TJ Connelly (DJ for the Bruins & Patriots and former DJ for the Red Sox), and has
found it to be a fun event to spin at breweries or Sunday brunches, with patrons hearing songs they know well in versions they haven’t heard before.Greg’s retro 80s/90s nights at bars and private parties are always a hit on the dance floor.
