Abe Dewing

Violinist

  • Abe Dewing is a multi-instrumentalist who plays a variety of music genres ranging from bluegrass, country to rock and modern pop from the Boston area.

  • He is known for his stage presentation and audience involvement at his performances. 

  • As a classically trained violinist and before his time at Eastman School of Music in Rochester NY, Abe has played under the baton of Leonard Bernstein and Seiji Ozawa and performed throughout North America and in Europe.

  • He then performed in local concert venues such as Symphony Hall, Jordan Hall, Sanders Theatre and Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum.

  • When playing non-classical, Abe is in several bands and has performed locally at Gillette Stadium, The Sinclair, Roadrunner, Bill's Bar, The Cantab Underground, and even LeLacheur Park, the former home of the Lowell Spinners, the single-A ball club of the Boston Red Sox.

  • In 2023, he joined the Dave Matthews Tribute Band and in the next 17 months played over 100 tour dates throughout the country.

  • Abe has been featured through articles in Strings Magazine.

  • His stadium rock violin arrangements have been recognized by the New England Patriots.

  • His bands have recorded music that is available through Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, YouTube and additional streaming services.
