Portland, Maine’s go-to folk-rock ensemble – whether you need an intimate duo for your ceremony, a string-driven quartet for cocktail hour, or a full band + DJ combo to keep the dance floor packed until last call.

The Dapper Gents deliver a signature blend of crowd-pleasing anthems and tasteful deep cuts, all tied together with soaring cello lines that turn familiar songs into something truly special. Think Mumford & Sons energy, Lumineers sing-alongs, Pixies edge, and Alabama Shakes soul – reimagined with acoustic warmth, upright bass groove, and tight four-part harmonies.

Born upstairs at Bull Feeney’s Irish pub in Portland when Jacob McCurdy was asked to “bring a couple friends” to fill the bigger stage, the band quickly grew into one of New England’s most in-demand private-event acts. Today the core lineup is Jacob McCurdy (vocals/guitar), Danny Rand (cello/vocals), Stu Gurley (bass/upright), and Jonathan Clement (drums/vocals), with the flexibility to scale up or down depending on your vision.

You’ll find them everywhere from coastal wedding venues in Kennebunkport and Newport to mountain lodges in Vermont and New Hampshire, downtown Boston rooftops, and even destination events in New York, D.C., and Florida. Winter ski resorts, summer beach clubs, corporate retreats, and backyard receptions – if there’s a celebration in the Northeast (and often beyond), chances are The Dapper Gents have played it.
