Erik Van Dam
Bio:
Boston’s boldest voice on soprano, alto, tenor, bari, and flute – a true multi-horn master whose fiery, inventive playing bridges hard-bop fire with avant-garde freedom.
Mentored by Joe Lovano and Hal Crook, Erik has shared stages and studios with legends Bob Moses, Bill Lowe, Stan Strickland, and Fred Ho’s Monkey Orchestra. From straight-ahead trios to completely improvised ensembles and funk-rock horn sections, his sound is instantly recognizable: fearless, soulful, and always pushing forward.
Whether you need sophisticated solo flute or violin-like soprano sax for your ceremony, a swinging quartet for cocktail hour, or a cutting-edge jazz set that turns your reception into a late-night club, Erik brings world-class improvisation and energy to every event.
